Essential Questions April 3

--Explain 3 things you learned in Excel Chapter 3.  What was the most difficult part of Excel that you had to learn? Explain.  Would you like to learn more about Excel?  Why or why not?

I've learned to add themes, different headers, and use functions and formulas.  The most difficult thing to learn while working with excel in this chapter was the new formulas like IF, and NOW. I think I have learned enough about Excel because I'm ready to move on to Acess.

March 27 - Essential Questions

It is the end of the 9 weeks.  Tell about the different Word and Excel skills that you learned.  What would you like to learn next 9 weeks?  Tell me one activity you would like to do in this class and explain.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I learned  a lot of new things like how to use the ribbon, making charts, using formulas, functions, and formatting the data in different ways.  I'm use to using Excel 2003 instead of 2007 so I basically just totally learned how to use it.  I think it would be fun for us to get into groups and think of a topic and then go out and find real information on the topic, like asking other students in like a poll or something.

Essential Questions Feb 16 -20

Why is it important to know how to do a resume and letter of application? Tell about your references and what you think they will say about you.

It is important to know how to write a resume the right way, otherwise the employeer may not want to waste his or her time reading a huge essay about yourpast jobs. It's also important to know how to write an application letter so you know what to write, how to write it, and not add in things that are unimportant

My References:

-Mrs. Stalnaker
---I think that she would say that I am a dedicated worker?

-Mr. Sites
--- I think that he would say that I am a good worker and pretty fast learner at computer applications.

-Mrs. Lucas
---I think she would say I am a sweet girl and I always try my hardest.

I'm not abosolutely sure thats what they'd say but from what I know I think they may.

Lindsey's Strengths

I took an assessment to find my strengths in how I learn on http://literacyworks.org/mi/assessment/cgi-bin/results.cgi . My top three intellegences are Musical, Nature, and Self. On the site it states... ---Musical: You like the rhythm and sound of language. You like poems, songs, and jingles. You enjoy humming or singing along with music. You probably remember things well when they are associated with music or rhythm. Try to incorporate sounds into your lessons, such as using a familiar tune, song, or rap beat to teach spelling rules, or to remember words in a series for a test. ---Nature: You are sensitive to nature and environment. You probably know the names of rocks, flowers, birds, and trees. You love to be outdoors. ---Self: You have a very good sense of self. You like to spend time by yourself and think things over. You will often take in information from another person, mull it over by yourself, and come back to that person later to discuss it. You like working on projects on your own. You often prefer to learn by trial and error. Effective techniques to enhance your learning include keeping a journal and giving yourself time to reflect on new ideas and information.

Essential Questions February 2-6

How do you feel about using the wiki and blog for this class?
Tell me at least 3 computer terms you learned this week and explain what they are.
If you would purchase a computer now what would you need to think about?

I really like the wiki, it is a lot easier than printing everything and turning it in or worrying about losing it and then at the end you don't have a lot of useless papers to carry around. I think the wiki is very convienient.
Three terms that I learned was that information coveys meaning and is usefyl to one or more people. The processor, memory, and storage devices are housed in a box-like case called the system unit. A stylus is a small metal or plastic device that looks like a ballpoint pen , but uses pressure instead of ink to write, draw, or make selections.
If I were looking to purchase a new computer I would first look at it's appearence, to see if it looks clean cut and professional. Second, I would find out how much memory it has and how well it works from other users. Lastly, I would like to find out how long it will last.

My Computer Uses

I have worked with many different things on computers. I have taken two computer classes before including Basic Computers and Business Computers Applications I. I am currently taking two more classes, Digital Imaging and Business Computers Applications II. In these classes I have learned to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Each of them have been very useful in my core classes, I used Microsoft Word to write a three page essay for my biology class about syringomyelia along with a PowerPoint presentation. I used Excel in my Basic Computer classes in assignments of taking inventory or organizing payroll. Each and everyone one of these Microsoft programs are very useful.

Harrasment

My name is Lindsey Losh.
I have seen harrassment at my school, unfortunetly.
I was riding home on the bus one day with my friend and this guy kept on grabbing my friend and trying to make her sit on him. He did it repeatedly and my friend informed me and others that he has done it many times before.
When you are being harrassed you have to do something about it, tell someone like a friend, parent or teacher and they can help you out to find a solution to stop the harrassment. What my friend did was told me and the rest of our friends and we said something to that guy in a forceful manner and he finally stopped. In most cases you should just tell your parents and or teacher and have them contact the person who is doing the harrassment and they can contact their parents and stop it.
If I saw someone being harrassed first I would tell them that if they didn't stop then I would turn them in, and then if they didn't I would tell the teacher and/or my parents.
